“Poolscapes” and “The Pool” series reviewed in Danish newspaper

English translation:

French-born Karine Laval (b. 1971) specializes in leisure life environments. She got her breakthrough as a photographer with the series The Pool, which began in 2002. With the series Poolscapes (2009-2010) she returns to the topic in a series of pictures that are more intriguing, more abstract.

There is definitely something about the way Laval portrays the elements in the images – the way you can almost sense the air temperature, and the water as a cooling cover. There’s a simplicity to it, but it is also very well executed.
